The Beer Mile is equal parts gastric challenge and athletic endeavor, requiring competitors to drink a beer before every quarter mile of the race, totaling four beers over the one-mile course. All proceeds from this event will go directly to the Beaufort County Young Professionals.

About the event

Join us on April 28th for an epic Beer Mile hosted by the Beaufort County Young Professionals! Check-in starts at 6 PM, and the race kicks off at 6:30 PM sharp! We're thrilled to have Pitt Street Brewing Company On The Pamlico providing the beer. Whether you're a solo runner or want to participate in the relay team, we've got you covered. With categories for both individual males and females, it's going to be an unforgettable night. Don't miss out on the fun! See you there!

All proceeds from this event will go directly to the Beaufort County Young Professionals. You must be 21 years of age or older to participate in the Beer Mile. Expect to have identification available at registration.

The Location:

This one-mile run will take place in Downtown Washington off of Main Street, with a 1/4 mile out and back on Gladden Street. Check in and starting point will be set up at Caboose Park next to the Underground Railroad Museum.

The Event:

The Beer Mile is equal parts gastric challenge and athletic endeavor, requiring competitors to drink a beer before every quarter mile of the race, totaling four beers over the one-mile course. Start with chugging a beer, then run a lap, then beer, then lap, then beer, then lap, then beer, then lap - finish. ​Invite all your friends to come cheer you on along the entire block. Signs and other crowd prompts are welcome. Plan to stick around to enjoy the party following the race at Pitt Street Brewing Company - On The Pamlico! There will be LIVE music.

The Awards:

AWARD CATEGORIES: 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Male/Female Overall and 1st Place Relay Team.

VOMITING

If you have to do it, please aim for one of the many trash cans set up for you around the block​.
